The symposium begins 3:00pm Thursday May 23 with opening and dinner, and will run through Saturday the 25th. We welcome you to come participate and share in learning about Native American ecology and practices. This year's theme is: “The Bounty of the Native Garden” and will feature guest speakers: Grandma Agnes Baker Pilgrim, Winona LaDuke, Caleen Sisk, M. Kat Anderson, Greg Stabach, Gail Small, Beth Rose Middleton, and Sage LaPena.Along with guest speakers, Friday's events include the Water Panel, two films: Dancing Salmon Home and Homeland, and there will be Potluck lunch Friday and Saturday. “The Joyous Bounty of The Native Garden” invites all to come join in exploring our history, our interaction with water, the land, our food, and our community. The Native American Ecological Education Symposium at Southern Oregon University, offers a unique perspective on the revival and utilization of Indigenous Peoples stewardship practices on caring for Mother Earth, from time out of mind.
