Join the Friends of Hannon Library as they host their annual William Stafford Birthday Celebration on Thursday, January 17, 2013. The event takes place at 7 PM at SOU’s Hannon Library, in the Meese Meeting Room (room #305).

Composer Todd Barton will open a celebration of poetry by William Stafford, the late Oregon Poet Laureate. Barton will perform his piece composed to accompany a quartet of Stafford’s poems. Poet Linda Barnes will read the poems. Other featured poets for the event include Jeannette Cappella, Bruce Barton, Richard Lehnert, Liz Robinson, and Jay Schroeder. Audience members are invited to bring a favorite William Stafford Poem to read.

This event, cosponsored by the Friends of William Strafford, is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in the lot behind Hannon Library.
